They do their due diligence and homework up front. They provide excellent engineering resources and support that many companies do not provide.

All the components were placed properly, fully tested by EDM. It’s one of the items we don’t really have to think about too much.

We try to give the suppliers adequate lead time, but when we first started up with EDM, we put them on the spot right away and asked for expedited delivery on a project. They poured everything they had into it and delivered us product way short of the required lead time. They helped us get the product in and going, and up and running, and we were able to fulfill our customer commitment.

They’re very upfront with us and very quick and very reliable. Some of our other vendors who do similar products are good but not as reliable. If EDM says a product will be here on a certain day, it will be here on that day or earlier. Never later.

I love that they can give me an up-to-date and accurate print out and review of all of our open orders.

On the recent assemblies that I sent over, I made a couple errors that they caught and questioned, and of course I corrected and we moved forward. They are methodical with knowing what they’re getting into and when they go into production they make sure it’s set up right. I’ve dealt with other contract manufacturers before. A lot of times off the production line there’s some error, but EDM had none. The assembly came in exactly the way we intended them to be.

It’s one of the vendors I don’t have issues working with. Others sometimes it’s hard to communicate, but EDM has been easy to communicate with so…gotta give them kudos.

They have the ability to produce test fixtures, so we don’t have to develop that for ourselves. Our other suppliers need us to do that for them which adds more time and cost to me.

I know when I send them my packets, their team understands exactly what it is. If they do have a question, it’s always coherent and to the point. It minimizes the amount of time it takes to get them up to speed. The other company that does this for us doesn’t have test engineers. We have to hand everything to them, and train their people. Their engineers on site tend to resolve things or come back with a much higher level question. It’s a value added engineering service that I don’t see in a lot of other facilities. They’re low impact on my team. I don’t need to spend a lot of time supporting the manufacturing.

We appreciate EDM’s honesty upfront that tells us that yes or no we can make this happen.

They’re good with sourcing hard to find items that we have struggled with in the past. They’re also good with designing stuff for unique equipment that helps automate the process that makes it go quicker.

I don’t think we’d ever consider looking anywhere else just because we have that trust, quality, responsiveness. We can pick up the phone anytime and get answers. It’s like working with someone in our own company.
